    Default Another Primer on the 14th Amendment...

    All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

    So.... All persons born in the United States are citizens.

    Citizens shall not have their privileges or immunities abridged.
    Any person within its Jurisdiction shall not be denied due process.
    NO person should be denied life, liberty, or property without due process.



    You see, all persons have a right to life, liberty and property unless given due process and it was taken away after that due process. We are denying immigrants of liberty without due process.

    We are denying immigrants of liberty without due process.
    doesn't due process mean that a hearing shall be held where a judge shall determine whether or not they might be granted refugee status and that upon a decree from that judge denying them that status, which they could appeal in a timely manner, a warrant may issue removing them from the jurisdiction of the United States and returning them to their country of origin?.......that due process?......you are right.......they were entitled to that.......and they got it......

    Not so. The 2,000 being deported have had their cases heard in the courts and ordered deported. They are allowed to enter the country and apply for asylum or refugee status, they wait for their case to be heard (adding many immigration judges to hear the cases). If they were not getting due process there would not be a backlog of 850,000 cases. Many who are ordered deported simply do not show up for their court hearing. Adding to that due process is the Board of Immigration Appeals for those who lose their case.

    That is the due process, but they are not getting it before being separated from their families and detained for lengthy periods of time. Being seperated from their families and detained for lengthy periods of time is denying them their liberty.

    We're not denying an IMMIGRANT their right to liberty without due process; but then, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS have already broken our laws.

    Illegally entering the US does not make then citizens; any more then someone breaking into your home, automatically makes them family.

    Ergo: You're attempt is a failure from Post #1.

    14th Amendment doesn’t apply to illegal immigrants. Even the author of the Amendment said so. The 14th Amendment was written to deal with the democrat party who continually treated blacks horribly

    1) if a single parent is arrested for a DUI and has four children in the car, what happens to the children?

    2) if a single parent has two children and is arrested for murder, what happens to the children?

    3) if a liberal beats his wife into a coma and they have three children, what happens to the children?

    And in the above scenarios there are no relatives around.

    are you saying that you consider arrest and incarceration before indictment or trial is a violation of due process?
    A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

    90% don't show up for their hearings, so detaining them is the only option.

    For those who weren't detained and didn't show up, round 'em up and ship 'em out along with their families and anchor babies.
    Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.
