See, in order for them to normalize Conservatism and Trump, they must try to frame the results of the election differently...so they lie about the polls because they need the polls to be wrong because the polls being wrong is an integral part of their false narrative. If they admit the national polls were correct, then they have to admit that there wasn't any of these other factors involved, and that Trump cheated. For those people, the prospect of their judgment leading them to vote for a cheater and fraud would be far too damaging to their egos.

After the electoral bloodbath of 2018, Oregon voters handed supermajority control of the state legislature to Democrats.

Oregon Conservatives chose to respond to that sound electoral defeat by lashing out and threatening violence because their political power was diminished by the voters in November's election.
