I think the word 'Socialist' is just a 'Red Flag' word. Used to inflame the intended audience.
No one is advocating a 'Ministry of Shoestrings' (or anything like that) to regulate how many, what color, and what size, shoestrings will be produced.

    It's 'Free' to everyone.

    THAT is 'socialized' Health Care.

No one is advocating for that in the US. 'Medicare for All' is being advocated HERE.

The last thing we need is more bureaucracy controlling the economy, Yes I get the argument about saving money.

we are a huge populace and it's better for us to regulate the industry for benefit of users -rather then try to run it.
We need things like universal coding Single Pay uses, but we don't want to eliminate private insurance.
We need cost controls more then anything
I think the main problem is doctors think they have a divine right to become millionaires and the healthcare companies are far too avaricious and market orientated. Just look at the cost of accommodation, ambulances and even basic medicines like painkillers in US hospitals.

the costs are sky high because Medicare doesn't fully reimburse or collections settling for payment at less then face value.
It has to be acknowledged private insurance leads to price gouging

Private billing needs a LOT of reform, so people throw up their hands and just want it non-profit

This NYT article makes a lot of sense, to me at least! The German healthcare model was first started in 1883 and has been copied the world over.

Germany offers a health insurance model that, like Canada’s, results in far less spending than in the United States, while achieving universal, comprehensive coverage. The difference is that Germany’s is a multipayer model, which builds more naturally on the American health insurance system.

Just regulating how many hip replacements the government will allocate in a given year lol.

Get your name in early if you want one.
