A good use of one's wealth and assets.

On another tangent, I consider David Gilmour to be one of the most under-rated guitarists in the rock pantheon, as well as the heart and soul of Pink Floyd, with no apologies to Roger Waters.

I think it is a great gesture for Gilmour to donate his guitars and amps for such a great cause that is also far too under-rated.

Pink Floyd was such a unique band with such unique style, they had to come up with a genre just for them- Psychedelic Blues Rock.

And everyone knows that Gilmour was the ultimate Psychedelic Blues Rock guitarist.

I personally wasn't much of a follower of Pink Floyd until they released the greatest album in the history of rock music- Dark Side Of the Moon. To me, all of their albums previous to that point were non-melodic psychedelic fluff. And I give Alan Parsons most of the credit for the success of The Dark Side Of The Moon for producing and engineering the project.

Alan Parsons showed them how to scrap their old non-melodic scrappy tones, and create one of the most beautiful patented melodic tones known in rock music.

Whatever was learned from Alan Parsons in the making of The Dark Side Of The Moon by the band, continued throughout their long and successful recording career.

i'm not going to argue the point as I say the same thing about Lindsey Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac.

FM fired Lindsey ( a stevie nicks temper tantrum) and they absolutely sound horrid without him,
despite the replacement of Mike Campbell of the former Heartbreakers
