It was because you needed to establish credibility for yourself because you recognize you have none if you admit to being a Trumpanzee from day 1. So because how people perceive you is the most important thing for you, you have to make people think that you're a thoughtful person whose reasonableness and thoughtfulness led you to support and defend everything Trump says and does. That way, you can argue his policies are reasonable because you present yourself as reasonable, even though that's bullshit.

It's all about optics with you people; how you are perceived is the lynchpin to everything you say here. Because you have so intrinsically tied your beliefs to your personality and judgment, a single pull of one thread ends up unravelling the entire sweater. For, if it's bullshit that you voted for Johnson, then it's bullshit that any of the policies you voice here have validity. Then it's bullshit that your judgment is sound. Then it's bullshit your instincts are good. Then it's bullshit your character is strong.
