Coincidentally, one of my friends, who is a retired OTR trucker, posted on his FB about this yesterday too. People he knows who are still working as truckers are complaining about fewer hauls and loss of income. They're all pretty worried. I asked Mr. Owl, who keeps a finger always firmly pressed to the pulse of the U.S. and world economies, about it. He concurred that 1) freight shipping is down drastically, and 2) this is a leading indicator of a coming recession. He already sold off a lot of our stock market investments and put them into other investment vehicles a few months ago.
