We can't just blame presidents for the uprising border crisis.
I know, when Trump took office, illegal border crossings were at a 50 year low? But, now, it is approaching a crisis mode again just 2 and a half years later.. And while some are blaming Donald Trump for the increase, that may be an over-statement.
The dynamics were starting to shift before Trump took office. It is no longer Mexicans seeking work in America that are flooding our borders wanting to come to America legally or illegally. That hasn't been the thrust of immigrants for the last 5 years or more.
Now, the majority of people flocking to our southern border, are people coming up from Central America hopeful of seeking asylum status.
This new dynamic has overwhelmed Mexico and the US in trying to deal with the crisis in humanitarian ways, as facilities are full, and now underfunded.
So let's stop the finger pointing and try to legislate an Immigration Bill using bipartisan support.
We already know Donald Trump's proposals and policy of using "My way or the Highway" of dealing with it, is only making matters worse, because the crisis is looming even larger everyday!
We will never fix our Immigration Problem by executive order and strictly partisan ways, no matter what political party is in the White House.
This is a problem for our legislators to fix and resolve through legislation and bipartisan efforts.
I am going to be watching all of the debates and stump speeches by all the candidates including Donald Trump's.
The candidate that will get my vote will be the candidate that pushes for Congress to work together to create a new Immigration Bill that actually addresses all of the problems and in a humanitarian American way!
Think Diplomacy- it's how progress is made!
