Not quite sure why you thought this was somehow making fun of somebody you disagree with, but you go on wit' yer baad self!
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

I feel for my friends in Hong Kong. But doggonit they sure know how to pull together and show up to get their point across! I wish them well.

Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

This is the reason I would have left that place as soon as the Brits gave it back to China had I been a resident.

I was there in December of that year, 1997. I stayed in the Admiralty Way area on the Island. I even had the chance to meet their
first chief executive Tung Chee-hwa at Sha Tin (HK International Races). He seemed reasonable enough at the time.
I'd post a picture, but don't know if it's possible from one's own personal 'My Photos'. Can I?
Most of the Hong Kongers along with some in the new Territories (Kowloon) I spoke with back then were cautiously optimistic and I imagine
thought they could eventually get a full democracy. They only started out with a Special Administrative Region. Beijing allowed them the
'1 country, 2 systems' rule at the time. They do have rights to free speech and assembly. We'll see what happens as the clock keeps ticking
to 2047 when mainland China is no longer obliged to grant the autonomy agreed on with Britain before the handover. The way Beijing has been
acting, it doesn't look like they want to wait that long to get HK 'under control', so to speak.

I couldn't get it to work so I'll just play with my avatar. Thanks anyway.
