I would not expect a high school drop out to know this, but based on my life experience 130 grand in debt for an Ivy League undergraduate and law school education is well withing the realm of the normal.

Secondly, a college education is an investment. Unless one has billionaire parents like Trump, one has to borrow money for an Ivy League professional school.
You have to invest money to make money. And that is, in part, what college is all about. It is an opportunity cost with the expectation of large financial benefits in the long run. I guess I should not expect you would understand that.

And many grads, such as myself, my wife, my oldest, and soon to be my youngest, don't/won't have debt. That's what happens when you plan ahead and have the discipline to stick with the plan. Between us, when my oldest daughter is finished, we'll have 5 undergrad and 4 graduate degrees. Combined, we'll have zero debt.
