I won't dare post anything here. Most have no connection to, remembrance of or gratitude for these men and women.
Anyone with particular respectful thoughts, stories or D-Day related articles, photos or videos can do so on the
Above Politics Forum today where I'll post on this subject if others would like to also......or not.

Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
pain in abortion.
Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

I have a WWII vet on my street, 94 years old, his war experience was with the Japanese, although he mainly tells the same stories over again, I relish the time I can spend with him.
Apparently whenever they took prisoners they were able to send the Japanese rifles home for keepsakes, he has a mint condition Arasaka Bolt action rifle with the bayonet.
It must weigh 10 pounds. Hard to imagine carrying that thing around in battle.
He also tells of coming upon a Japanese soldier hiding in warehouse who had gotten lost, and how he put his gun down when he realized how scared the Jap was that he wished him no harm. And finding out he was only just turned 17.

The commentary doesn't sit well, for this type of thing.
