    Default OT: Tiger Woods

There are not enough superlatives to describe him this weekend. To battle through that pain like he did and still perform at that high of a level was simply amazing. We are watching the greatest golfer ever in the prime of his career right now. Rocco is a great guy but this would be one of the biggest upsets ever if he is able to pull it off today.

My wife and I watched it as much as we could. The only time we weren't watching was when we were in church yesterday. Got back in time to see Tiger make that put. I'm still rooting for Rocco today though, even though he hasn't much of a chance IMO. At least an American will win it this time.

Q: Senator Obama, would you take the same pledge? No tax increases on people under $250,000?

OBAMA: I not only have pledged not to raise their taxes, I've been the first candidate in this race to specifically say I would cut their taxes.

We watched as much as we could of the tournament. Tiger had said on Saturday that the knee was getting worse -- that's a lot of walking on uneven ground, plus the strain involved in executing a drive (the only shots where he was obviously in pain). Just think how distracting it is when your shoes pinch, or you have a blister, or anything that interferes with your concentration. I was really impressed at how well Tiger put most of that aside.

Anyone watching would have to be pleased for Rocco Mediate, but Tiger did again what he does so well -- came through when it counted.

Damn, Rocco up one with three to go. This back nine has been amazing. Rocco's putt on 15 was off the hook!

Rocco finds a bunker on his tee shot on the 7th, Tiger is on the fairway. This might be the end.

Excellent. I wish I could have watched.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
