Would you want to be in charge of a business or company that you do not own?

Fairly simple question. In other words, would you accept an offer for a position at a place of business wherein you manage the assets and take charge of financial decisions of importance or would you turn down that offer because you are not the owner and wouldn't want to accept the responsibility of handling what someone else owns?

Upside is that if you added value to the company you could potentially receive bonuses and other career enhancing promotions and recommendations. Downside is that if you mismanaged the comany or caused a collapse your career could be on the line.
