Default SNOWPLOWS used in Dayton to CLEAR DEBRIS from storms...

I don't live in the mid-west. Is that normal? Snowplows used to move DEBRIS from SPRING "STORMS"? Can snowplows even handle this shit without ruining them?

This article had 30 uploaded videos to this local station. Of course this site BLOCKs more than 2. So open it up if you want to see them!

The Ohio Department of Transportation is using snowplows to clear Interstate-75 of debris after a large tornado struck just north of Dayton.
The department’s press secretary tweeted the image Monday evening.

Unfortunately we are dealing with a major disaster situation in the Dayton Ohio area as a long track tornado has impacted a heavily populated area. Here is a very preliminary look at the track of the tornado.. \

It’s the first time I’ve encountered a #tornado. Luckily I’m far enough way where we only lost power.

I just hope the people closer to where this thing touched down are safe.

Yes... Tornadoes do indeed cause destruction.

Yes... hail does indeed cause destruction.

Yes... this happens a lot... especially tornadoes in the midwest. I live in Denver, we had hail each of the last two days. It happens this time of year sporadically.

Yes... snowplows can handle debris removal. Yes... that is common in these situations. That said, the plows can damage streets regardless of weather if they are used improperly (ie... set too low)

I live in FLA, it's been 30 years since I had to deal with snow. I just thought debris might ruin them. BIG $$ to replace and FIX. (I do remember something along the lines of going into the office and I parked on the street and was told GET MY CAR OUT OF THE WAY before the plows came or the car would be there till the snow melted).

PS 500 TORNADOES is normal for MAY in the mid-west? Sure seems like an extraordinary # to me but I don't profess to know for sure.

    1) they are typically very durable steel
    2) they are not that expensive (if you are talking about blade replacements when necessary).
    3) not sure where you got the 500 number from, but May is typically one of the more frequent months. Usually you see around 1000 a year total. About a quarter Jan-April, about half in May and June, then other quarter the remainder of the year. Obviously every year varies a bit. So if May has had 500, that would tend to be on the high side.

This is showing a little under 600 total for the year so far, which is fairly normal.

I heard the 500 # yesterday on the morning news. Looks like that # was LOW BUT I don't profess to know how they are counted, what levels mean what. Other than I know 4s and 5's are CATASTROPHIC. Just like a 4 or 5 HURRICANE. (5 being, adios, the end, nice knowing you if you are in it's path).

I googled tornates to date 2019 -- PLEASE NOTE, THIS ISN'T UPDATED--it says March.

(Switched over to source code, still mucks up a graphs, so here's the link).

That is the same link I provided, it is updated as it lists out the tornadoes in April and May as well. It shows 592 through May (so far), all but 20 being cat 2 or below. 19 Cat 3's and one 4.

To be clear, even a Cat 2 can wreck a town. All just depends on where they touch down.

Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.
