I was drinking and watching the coverage. To me, the whole affair was a shitshow, because, I didn't expect that McMullin would somehow steal Utah, and with Trump taking Pennsylvania (plus a district in Maine), things working out so that all three EV recipients fell below 270 votes. Trump's night did finally impress me, because, I thought Wisconsin was out of reach for him. I raised my glass to the almighty television to acknowledge this accomplishment. I guess I should have raised a vodka martini in the spirit of what was to follow (but I much prefer a real martini).

I was more happy than unhappy. I had already grieved following Trump's May 5th primary-clinching victory in Indiana. At that point, it was just drinking my way through the spectacle of the evening, and watching the left have a meltdown.

I’ve never understood enjoying other people’s pain, even when it concerns politics, but that’s just me. I have never understood how anyone could be happy about Trump, especially these days. The reporting of Tillerson's testimony drives it home even more. Trump is an easily manipulated dupe. Kushner is making policy with no experience. It’s awful.
