I see a lot of new building going on, new houses, malls etc & it is all disposable crap... Not made to last more than 50 years tops...... By then the area will have run down & "everyone will have made their money" & died.......

Correct, buildings are not engineered to last > 50 yrs. They say it has to do with staying current with engineering standards which is not false (try retrofitting the HVAC in a 190 yr old bldg) but as with everything else, it insures repeat customers.
It helps to have slave labor, holds down the cost. Thats why slavery was so popular in olden days.
