Default "Top Republican says Senate unlikely to vote on any election security bills"

"Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), a member of Senate GOP leadership, said Wednesday that the chamber is unlikely to vote on any election security legislation, despite requests from a federal agency for more funding to improve election systems nationwide."

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has publicly said he won’t allow a vote on the bill."

"When asked about Blunt's remarks on Wednesday, McConnell's office pointed to the majority leader's "case closed"

"McConnell enabled the Russian attack on US democracy in 2016 by refusing to stand with Obama in denouncing Russian efforts to manipulate the presidential election."

"It is not a coincidence that the least popular senator in America used his power as Senate Majority Leader to stop Democrats from reimposing sanctions on a Russian oligarch and then that same oligarch just so happens to invest $200 million in McConnell’s home state before the reviled senator is running for reelection."

Given the documented number of direct Russian contacts with the Trump campaign in 2016, over a hundred, and Rudi's attempt to solicit a foreign nation to investigate potential Trump opponents, it is no wonder Mitch doesn't want any increased security heading into 2020

Seems Mitch himself has first hand knowledge of how helpful a "little help from my friends" can be and the last thing he wants to do is spoil it for the GOP
