It matters more than nominating a candidate with a track record of passing progressive legislation. It certainly matters more than nominating a candidate who could be the first female president.

Unfortunately, very few people who say they are putting electability first seem to understand what “electability” means, or what today’s electorate actually looks like."
Honestly, the guy can't even speak in complete sentences. Someone played a long montage of Biden on the campaign trail, and it's pretty pathetic. He's just too old, and stupid. If this is the best the Democrat Party has, they are in big trouble.

We do support Christians...of all races, pebble by pebble.

    We are "Americans."

We do oppose Communism but not "legal" foreigners.

These are policies not identity politics, which the radical Democrat Socialists support...pebble by pebble.

Indeed, he appears to be approaching senility very rapidly. Slurred speech, incomplete sentences...not what we want for POTUS.

This is what pisses me off about some conservative "conscience" voters. They will throw their vote away to some third party candidate with NO chance of winning, to somehow soothe their conscience. All they are really doing is advancing the causes they claim to oppose.

Actually lol, the DNC is endangering of making themselves relevant.

Hint: political relevance means steering back the middle. For years now—ever since Obama’s first term, I’ve been harping on the Democrats leftward lurch. And for reasons I’m unsure of, Democrats dropped the clutch and hit the gas after 2016.

Trump HAS changed the GOP though, but NOT in terms of ideology. How long have republicans been clamoring for conservative justices? How many has Trump appointed? Cutting regulations and freeing up the economy? Sounds like something Reagan would do. Finally, finally, we have a Republican President who is serious about the border and immigration. If only someone would work with him on it.

What Trump changed [hopefully] is he gave the GOP a set of gonads.
Coup has started. First of many steps. Impeachment will follow ultimately~WB attorney Mark Zaid, January 2017

Yes, but you pretend Christians are under attack. You pretend there is a "War on Christmas." Republican identity politics mostly consist of painting Christians out as victims that need to vote Republican to fight back.

    We are "Americans."
And you paint the Left out as being Anti-American. That's identity politics, just like when someone claims Trump is Anti-Mexican.

We do oppose Communism but not "legal" foreigners.
And you lie about your opponents being Communists and foreigners.

So there you go, four examples of GOP identity politics.

    Indeed.

    Ross Perot comes to mind.
