But we need a president and he was elected. Counter-protesters did not have to turn out and give those people all that unneeded publicity. That would have been the simplest solution. They already did. People are free to do as they please as long as it is not illegal. But, we don't have to publicize that cause and risk violence and death.

The counter-protestors did not do anything to prevent them from having free rein.

Nor did they prevent the riot, or the news coverage. There is fault on both sides, but the bottom line is that Trump instigated the situation with his comments.

But there would have been no riot and much less news coverage without the counter-protestors. The media was there to see conflict. You have no clue whether the protest would have occurred without Trump's comments--that is pure partisan speculation and much too simplistic an explanation.

Those white supremacy groups have been increasing in number since 2000 long before Trump's comments.
