Default 94.5% Employment is not that bad.

Alright .. we took a pretty tough 1 month hit ..but

Lets consider ... the overall avg. Unemployment Rate under Bill Clinton was 5.6

The overall avg. Unemployment rate in the 90's was 5.7

The overall avg. Unemployment rate since 1980 is 6.3

This is not a Pro Bush post... but a Pro America ... things are not as bad as the Pro Obama Media would have you believe ....

I don't care what the "pro-Obama" media says. I can read the business & economic stats myself. Unemployment rate is one slice of it. The fundamentals of this economy are terrible; the housing market - which propped up the economy for years - is dead. Home equity is at the lowest level since before WWII. Since people have record debt against that home value, that's a problem. There is also the problem with regular wages not keeping up with COL & costs like tuition, healthcare & energy. Then, there are the gas prices.

When you think about the whole picture, the media has actually been pretty tame in their coverage. The economy is a mess right now.

No ... stop with the election year partisan bull shit and try to see things with out the blinders...

Things are shaky ...no doubt. We have a housing industry thats hurting to say the least... Energy prices are out of control and we are in a Quagmire in the Middle East....

But...for the most part ...we still have strong Employment in this Country ... some parts are hurting much more than others ... but thats always been the case.

But you Socialists and your partners in the Mainstream Media will do and say anything to make sure your Messiah gets elected.

As I have been saying, you ain't seen nothing yet.

About 7 months ago most of the experts were saying the economy and such were fine.
Where will we be 7 months from now ?

It's nice to have a Republican back around these parts just to remind me of how bat-shit loony (and inane) they are.

HaHa, the economy is struggling now but fundamentally it is strong and will bounce back. However that's just pro U.S. b.s. I'm spouting.

some might believe that, but not me. Too much negative stuff is already in motion.
Even if obama / congress did everything right it will still suck for a while.

Better yet McCain will be President and we'll get more of the Bush economy. Anemic job creation for everyone!

You guys keep saying this. I haven't heard anyone on the left proclaim Obama the Messiah.

Are we allowed to get excited about a candidacy anymore? I know you idiots feel self-conscious because you voted twice for one of the most incompetent Presidents in history, and you're giving "detached cynicism" a try now, but that's not our fault.

So Presidents create Jobs? I thought that was the job of entrepreneurs ...

Presidents help create an environment that is friendly to entrepreneurs... not hostile. Like keeping taxes in line ... something I have trouble thinking Obama will do... considering all the Cradle to Grave programs he wants to create.
