It's a little more complex than that. I believe there was TPA, which was supposed to protect American workers from any trade deals. She was in favor of that, as part of TPP when she was Sec. State. That also would have given Obama fast track authority, with Congress only voting Yea/Nay, with no amendments.

Sure...on the campaign trail she found her way to realizing that Congress should have the right to read/amend the bill.

It's a great big world. Wall St. demands globalism. We really cannot exist without trade policies. Of course, most of our trade policies entailed us giving away the farm in exchange for permission to build strategic military bases near 'our' oil.

Times have changed now that we choose to destroy our own environment, so our trade policies seem out of sorts when they stand alone.

Few here even understand trade, or the complexities involved, let alone what Trump is attempting.

And Trump is going to come up, it is his trade policy
As designed, it would have come to an up or down vote in Congress. You think it would have made its way to POTUS?

    We are already doing that.

No we aren't. Everyone got a tax holiday, and many pay no taxes despite billions in profits. There's no incentive to repatriate labor. In fact, overseas money was allowed back in at a fraction of normal taxation. No jobs, and no raises.

And it's understandable Boomers don't get today's technology as it's not something you had to deal with growing up and in the prime of your careers. Not to mention a good amount of manufacturing has left China and gone to places like Vietnam and Mexico.
the days of monopoly manufacturing are gone, but not manufacturing in the USA. There is no reason not to be competitive. Trump has added 480k manufacturing jobs

We are never going back to the days of say Nike setting up factories in the U.S. to have their shoes made here. In a global economy with global supply chains it’s just not happening. There are too many cheap alternatives around the globe where it can be done.
