It's funny/depressing. People who are old enough to remember the Columbine shooting talk about it like it was this life changing thing. Growing up in the time I am, I can't imagine people feeling that way about a shooting. There are so many, who can even keep track of them, much less think it's a wake up call?
it should just be another day. school shootings are a non issue, not a big problem, nor a very big deal. gun rights are far more important than a couple of random kids being picked off every year.

Pushing crazy pills on kids some starting at 2yo not a big problem, nor a very big deal. $$$ for the Dr;s etc are far more important than a couple of random kids going really crazy and shooting up a school

Depends. If you're a douchebag, you use the pronouns you want, sometimes purposely to annoy the person. If you're a well-adjusted person, you accept that the trans person has a medical condition, and use the pronouns they want.

Why would you say that? Is the freedom of religion more important than the lives lost in terrorist attacks? Should you be jailed for for expressing your opinion, because some have used freedom of speech to incite violence? What about a few criminals not getting caught to keep your doors from getting kicked in by the cops? Or do you just support the rights that you want people to have?

Virtually nobody is saying all guns should be banned, but that we should have stricter gun laws to kids don't regularly get shot at school. And while I'm not in favor of banning all guns, that's no where near as bad as losing freedom of speech or religion. Losing those things would actually lead to more deaths, whereas we could probably get along without guns.

So you only support rights you agree with. Got it. And you should define regularly. More kids are shot in a holiday weekend in any urban center than are shot in schools across the country in a year.

Because the only thing that can be done is to change the way of life of millions of other folks. What can be done would make shooting sports (targets, sheet, trap, etc) available only to the affluent. What can be done would be to change our society to the likeness of those we sought to escape almost 250 years ago. I am quite thankful for those politicians who realize that and don’t make knee-jerk laws limiting the freedoms of citizens seeking to follow the law.

Great to see you back here LR! Seeing as you are a teacher and a gun owner what are your thoughts on having armed teachers? Would you want to be armed, or have access to an arm, in class?
