that russia is no longer a global power and its laughable that we spent 2 years discussing how they were able to install a puppet in the white house.

China has been ramping up spending on weapons. They don't have the R&D costs we do,because they steal ours

something like 25% of US spending is spent on wages I think. Whenever people discuss spending I always say the quickest way to bring it down would be to pay a US service member the same wages that his Chinese equivalent would get. Somehow people dont understand that 60 bn in china is not the same as 60 bn in the USA yet they magically understand that the cost of living in New York would be different from a rural county.

we just did that with sequestor, and lost experienced personnel -and training accidents,
but we had plenty of money to spend on NATO and DA RUSSIANS!

yep. they got a new stealth warplane knock off as well -although they are going to rely more on SWARMing,
rather then stand off tech..

But we still got the very best ( stealth) Navy, and the freaking F-35 may finally be coming around

Did it ever occur to you that a big chunk of that money could be better spent here @ home, on our citizens, on their health, their kids education, working on the child mortality rate etc etc etc.???

Yes. That should be addressed. All the way around. But we need a strong military. Especially in this day and age. There has to be a balance.

what i am saying is that if you factor in things like cost of living and relative salary costs we are probably spending the same as china.
