Default At Least Some Are Beginning To Understand

And they understand income inequality, and some are even doing something about it.

    https://wtvr.com/2019/04/24/disney-h...aid-employees/

Just days after calling the pay of Disney’s top brass “insane,” the granddaughter of company co-founder Roy Disney wrote an opinion piece in the Washington Post, in which she acknowledged she “struck a nerve with a Twitter thread about wage inequality at the Walt Disney Co.”

“I believe that Disney could well lead the way, if its leaders so chose, to a more decent, humane way of doing business,” she wrote in a piece published Tuesday.

She proposes the company put aside half of the bonuses its executives earn, distributing that to the bottom 10% of Disney’s 200,000 employees.

According to a regulatory filing, six of Disney’s top executives, including CEO Bob Iger, received stock awards and options worth a combined $62 million last year. That doesn’t include the additional bonuses — and potentially millions of dollars more — earned by lower-tier executives at the media and theme park conglomerate.

“Besides, at the pay levels we are talking about, an executive giving up half his bonus has zero effect on his quality of life,” she writes. “For the people at the bottom, it could mean a ticket out of poverty or debt. It could offer access to decent health care or an education for a child.”
"2Timothy 3 "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away"

Well done. This case is particularly good because if they do what they propose, it would be out of personal free-will, not government coercion. This is why capitalism will always be the more humane system.

I am struggling with this moronic talking point "income inequality." How would there NOT be income inequality? What is the argument? That everyone should make the same pay? Why?

It's another of those simplistic leftist meme's that have ZERO meaning and do NOTHING to improve the lives of those the left proclaims they are the champions of.

NBC Nightly News did a brief segment on this tonight. We seem to have forgotten the concept of noblesse oblige, but this lady has resurrected it. Good for her. Disney really should grab this and run with it. It will make them even more popular. It's outstanding PR. And maybe, just maybe, it will spark other corporations into doing the same. I'd love to see investigative reporters digging into it as well. Say Disney claims that it's giving all of its employees "living wages" because of this publicity. It would be good to have follow-ups a year or so later to make sure that they really did. Maybe the investigative reporters could do something more worthwhile than repeating the Toadstool's endless moronic tweets. lol

It is everybody's responsibility to get some experience or learn some job skills that make them valuable enough to deserve a decent salary. Then, it is their responsibility to live a life within their income limits.

It is not the employer's responsibility to pay somebody with no skills a "livable wage" so that person can buy a home, have a family, etc.

This kind of stupid shit always reminds me of this clip from The Andy Griffith Show. Substitute, "citizen's arrest", for, "income inequality", or, "social justice", or any number of idiotic leftist loonery parroted by libs. I guess the only difference is, in this episode, Gomer Pyle actually had a valid point. Libs rarely do.

But it is not the result of capitalism. It is closer to Democratic Socialism the system you hate. Capitalism is based on self interests, and greed. Probably why Jefferson, and others, opposed it.

As I have pointed out before, and f**king idiots are too stupid to understand, the troubles brought about by the hoarding of wealth by the few has been recognized by Plato, Christ, the Founders, and now by many in this country. The only point you people grasp is that there will always be income inequality, and rightly so. However, that does not justify the incomes of CEO's increasing by 937% while that of the one that does the actual labor only increased by 11.2%.

I assume by experience you mean work and by skills you mean education. Some people cannot afford education and therefore cannot obtain work. Almost nobody is saying everybody is entitled to buy a house and have children.
