President Trump said Wednesday that he intends to fight "all the subpoenas" issued by the House, setting up a drawn-out battle between the White House and congressional Democrats.
"We're fighting all the subpoenas," Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a conference in Atlanta on opioid abuse.
Trump dismissed a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee for testimony from former White House counsel Don McGahn as "ridiculous."
"We have been, I have been the most transparent president and administration in the history of our country by far," Trump said.
The president asserted that Democrats are investigating his administration and issuing subpoenas for political reasons, suggesting it would help the party in the 2020 election.
"Look these aren't impartial people," he said. "The Democrats are trying to win 2020. They're not going to win with the people I see, and they're not going to win against me."
"The only way they can luck out is by constantly going after me on nonsense," he added.
The president has in recent days excoriated Democrats for carrying out investigations into his administration and him personally, particularly in the wake of special counsel Robert Mueller's report.
"I say it’s enough," Trump said. "Get back to infrastructure. Get back to cutting taxes. Get back to lowering drug prices."

good. actively fight back, don't even just ignore them and give the Dems a propaganda talking point.
Mueller got full access and full witness testimony - enough. Congress has pressing business; do some legislating

LOL! He doesn't have a legal leg to stand on and will get slapped down like the little bitch he is by the courts. All legal precedent and black letter law is on the side of the Dems.
Fun to watch how his sycophants and fellatrixes are even dumber than he and his legal team are.
Their tears are, however, deelish.

Republican Congressman Ken Buck:
“We’re at a time in American politics, that I am not going to lie on behalf of my presidential candidate, on behalf of my party. And I’m very sad that others in my party have taken the position that, as long as we get the White House, it doesn’t really matter what we say,”
