Default Trump Sues to Block Congress' Subpoena for His Financial Records

President Donald Trump and his business organization sued the Democratic chairman of the House oversight committee on Monday to block a subpoena that seeks years of the president’s financial records.

The complaint became the latest front in the intensifying battle between the president and the Democrats who control the House of Representatives and are committed to investigating Trump and his finances.
The complaint, filed in federal court in Washington, said the subpoena from Rep. Elijah Cummings “has no legitimate legislative purpose” and accuses Democrats of harassing Trump and wielding their new majority in Congress to try to stain the president’s standing.

“Instead of working with the President to pass bipartisan legislation that would actually benefit Americans,
House Democrats are singularly obsessed with finding something they can use to damage the President politically,” the lawsuit states.

Sometimes there's a connection about who is financing you and your political decisions. For an example:
“Credit-card companies,” Mr. Biden said, “can’t continue to trap consumers with hidden fees or retroactive rate increases.”

"Not mentioned was Mr. Biden’s own history with the financial services industry, an economic power in his home state of Delaware, or the critics who saw him as too close to credit-card companies in more than three decades in the Senate."

You can look behind the Curtain or keep your Head in the Sand.

President Trump has filed the required federal financial disclosure report.

His tax return is confidential. Only his tax lawyers and the IRS get to see it.

Maybe the Russians have loaned Trump millions of Dollars? Could be an 'obligation' implied?

Actually comical how now the same conservatives who for over ten years "investigated" nearly everything and anything Obama/Clinton while their media litigated the same are now crying about investigations. What short memories they have, or should I say selective memories

And that White House talking point, "instead of working with the President to pass ..........." is getting comical. I think it first appeared when Jordan used it during Cohen's testimony, and lately, all the lackeys are echoing it, as if, which is the usual response, the Democrats can't chew gum and walk at the same time.

Pelosi had the best comeback when it came up before her when she merely read off a list of measures passed in the House in three months that Mitch has ignored went sent to the Senate

No, Mueller didn't look at Trump's finances, and where they arose, he sent any inquires to other jurisdictions

So far, but it is yet to be determined

Trump knows all this, it will bounce in the Courts for a long time and eventually hit the SCOTUS where his two lackeys will decide in his favor, he put them there for a reason. Problem is none of that goes undetected, Americans know Trump's schtick, and just as Trump did with the intelligence entities and Judicial system, the reputation of the SCOTUS will go down the toilet, something that will haunt Roberts

How do you know he didn't, as his report showed, there are fourteen separate inquires out there inwhich only two are known by the public
