Authors are conservative contributors to the NYT, unlike most right wing "news outlets" the NYT and WP offers views from both positions. The article is an opinion piece

But the biggest irony is that the Mueller Report basically had little to say about the dossier, Mueller knowing it was a lesser player in anything. If you actually read the FICA applications you wold see the same thing, it isn't even mentioned in the FISA applications till later.

The FBI used a bogus dossier, paid for Trump's opposition, to justify spying on a candidate's campaign just weeks before Election Day. It's right in the application. They quote the document at length.
