    That is disgusting.

The only thing being given for free is the ability to survive for people who cannot afford to do so.

Why not make education free? That quote does not mean learning does not matter.
    1. How can you claim education is "free"?

    2. At what level should it be "free"? Doctorate, 5 degrees in liberal farts? Perhaps two doctorates and a JD? Is there a limit on your utopia?

I forgot who said this but essentially the education part doesnt matter. The student is the viechle which is used to transfer money from the government to schools in the form of student loans.
Why should we allow those who won't pay their debts to have their loans "dischargable by bankrupcy and then making it so that the bank and school take the hit if the borrower is unable to pay"? That sure as hell isn't teaching them to be responsible, is it? Why should banks and schools bear other's irresponsibility? I say garnish their wages until all debt is paid off.
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

Actually, in most cases bankruptcy can be a great thing for the economy. It is why we have bankruptcy laws today.

I could write on and on about it, however, research the history of BK laws and the benefits to the economy as a whole.

Yeah, bankruptcy sure helps the economy. It helps by raising credit card interest rates (for one) because banks have to eat the losses.

Seriously, read up on it. I'm not being snarky, however, it is a lot of information that I don't want to post.

That's actually not a bad idea. Not everyone is suited for academics. If we put the same effort into creating institutes of higher learning that teach the trades, we'd all prosper. We need mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, CNAs, et al more than we need more lawyers and English lit majors.

then of course the next minute you would be crying racism or classism at those who get to go to college.

You would be cool telling 8th graders they are not college material? That's fucked up.

Oh look, another one who thinks debate involves putting words out that weren't said. Where did I say that? I'd be more inclined to say that if by the senior year, a kid hasn't shown the aptitude and willingness to do well in h.s., he/she is unlikely to do that well in college. Do some aptitude tests in middle school, let the students know what's riding on their next few years, and give the final exam and results in the senior year.

Fuck Warren and her plan. Pay your debts you scumbags. Why the fuck does someone make 130K deserve to have their debt reduced?

Once these lowlifes have their debt removed and get back to even, surely they will pay all their debt from that point on, right? There's no way they would learn that they don't really have to pay their debt?

the problem is its an entire generation in debt. They wont be able to buy houses, even credit cards have to make specialty secured cards for them, all of this of course leads to lower consumer spending when the entire economy runs on consumer spending.

I think its going to have to be an amnesty thing. One time then no more student loans. Or Trumps plan where student bank and school get together facilitated by the govt for the student to get loans (which bank and school now have to make sure they recoup)

Do you think they'll pay their mortgages? I don't.
