Hey, having dishonest candidates seems to make you happy, so, let's weed out the most honest ones. Trump's path through the primary would have been much easier without that nuisance Lyin' Ted keeping pace for much of the contest.

The Trump administration is the most incompetent of modern times, and its figurehead is a sick joke not just in America but throughout the world. You want to see that repeated indefinitely, with an endless line of ignorant, lying con men stepping into Trump's shoes? You won't, because you can't keep getting presidents elected on a minority vote, and a majority of Americans will not stand for it.

But if by some amazing mischance you did, that wouldn't make America great again - it would FINISH America.

It amazes me how all the lies told about Trump don’t register with some people.

Particularly, when the lies were told in an effort to pull off a coup. It amazes me.

Maybe we should nominate someone from the NYT editorial board lol.

    _____________

I can’t believe I voted for this guy once.

But you’d think he’d know better than to take a swing at Trump lol.

Oh *that* kind of RINO -- the kind who still possess a shred of integrity.

I was hoping for a thread about rhinos stomping on poachers.

The lies told by the left and Democrats do not nullify the lies and general/historical dishonesty of Trump. We're talking about a guy who told lies about every single one of his primary opponents, who were generally honest toward him in return (with the possible exception of Little Marco, although, he didn't invent the small hands line).

Some lies are more consequential than others lol.

Which lie did Trump tell that was an effort to subvert an election? Trump is the most lied-about president in our history.

It doesn't require lies to undermine a liar. The left just does stupid things out of habit. As for subversion, Trump attempted to commit obstruction on numerous occasions, but was bailed-out by his staff.

I am looking forward to the AG/IG investigating the Obama Administration for spying on Trump, however. This is the sort of thing I've wanted to see happen since the days of Clinton.

You’re forgetting that Trump is president. He could have overridden his staff and fired Mullet *but thought better of it*.

And if it’s proven that Trump was attempting to ‘obstruct’ a corrupt investigation—history will remember him kindly.

Trump ordered his staff to do the deed, because, he thought it would somehow look better optically.

    That it would lol.

But it’s academic because no one was fired and the investigation ran its course totally unmolested.

Shouldn’t it first be established that the investigation was legitimate before there’s any talk of obstruction?

The investigation (at least the one that Rosenstein handed-off to Mueller to investigate) was really just a counterintelligence matter to determine the extent to which Russia interfered in the election. Trump didn't like that, however, because he felt that any perception of Russia's activities on the part of the public is inherently damaging to his credibility. Mueller was also tasked to determine if said activities involved any coordination with the Trump campaign (which included whether or not Trump had obstructed justice in order to cover it up).

The first matter needed to be investigated, even though it makes Trump feel uncomfortable. As the saying goes, "you wanted this jobright?"

The matter of coordination/conspiracy was found to not be true. I have read quite a bit of Andrew McCarthy's legal analysis on NR. He has pointed-out that the original basis for the charge/suspicion of obstruction was the firing of Comey. McCarthy has made the argument (I think correctly), that it's idiotic to accuse Trump of committing obstruction vis-a-vis legal acts that he has to power to lawfully engage in, such as firing the sitting FBI Director. Obstruction charges should only arise from illegal acts. This gets dicey, however, with regard to the Office of the Special Council, where Trump's efforts to fire Mueller would have effectively ended the investigation.

Ultimately, you and I are in agreement that the counterintelligence investigation into Russian activies should never have been turned into a weapon against the Trump campaign. I thought it was inappropriate when WaPo committed reporters to the task of exclusively following the Trump campaign around and attemping to dig-up dirt. I therefore think it was an illegal abuse of power for the FBI/DOJ to basically do the same thing, and to lie to the FISA court in the process.
