There's always going to be a certain element that thinks the people are too dumb to govern themselves. Madison wrote about this. Today we call them Democrats.

Therefore, according to Republicans, if you want an example of socialism look to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France, or Holland.
Yes, they word "socialism" is thrown around by Republicans about Europe. That just makes them wrong, not me.

Typical righty, childish insults are what you bring. It is not mathematical. It is simply a reality. All the Scandinavian countries are capitalistic. They allow a certain amount of the countries wealth to help the masses. Schools are theoretically a boon to the future of the country. America does not provide a government college system. It is for profit. That is why it is ridiculously expensive and shuts out a huge portion of its citizens from educational advancement. Many countries provide education. That is not welfare. That is good for the country as a whole.

Americans have, for a long time, wanted more government than they are willing to pay for. I'm not sure it's pure socialism but I am sure that from a fiscal standpoint, it is not a prudent course of action.

The fact that it is a fake quote that Alexander Tyler never made matters a lot. It is just mental masturbation, word salad, that no one knows where it came from.
