I think most people think it the wisest thing never to challenge what the gang bosses think and feel, for fear of getting thumped. You have to be pretty lucky to be brought up to look at any facts, ever, outside the pattern they lay down. It took the First War to produce serious questioning in the masses of people, and that not everywhere.

I looked up "fact" in the dictionary and there was a picture of Hillary crying

    Is that your confession?

I noticed that most loud skeptics are atheists or anti religious and they spend a lot of time deconstructing religion or being really pushy and apathetic. There's many skeptics of all types good and bad. Just because you're skeptical and view the world in a clearer picture doesn't mean you got some sort of authority over people. If a skeptic wants to convince us of the error of our ways, being an asshole about it isn't going to win him believers.

Well, I'm not a philosopher or psychologist so there really is no debate on what a fact is. When I want to know what a thing is I consult a reference book. In this case that would be a reputable dictionary, preferably Oxford.

Being skeptical is pretty easy; shut out the wishy washy gray areas. Whats a gray area? Something unsure, unproven or otherwise undefined. That doesn't mean you can't listen to what you think is unbelievable. Everyone likes to be entertained. Let the paranormal entertain us. Just don't take the paranormal too seriously.

One, who has the ability to learn yet still refuses to accept critical thinking and empirical data, is stupid.

Countryboy said "the question now becomes what you accept as fact." I was explaining what I accepted as fact. His context wasn't political.

It isn't easy....... It is much easier to parrot, mock & pretend humor than to actually apply, apply to oneself, apply to their leaders, team mates, team, side etc etc etc

Oh, my, you must be just fuckin POUTRAGED about it.....

Rather than point your lil finger @ someone else, why not first apply it to yourself & see if you live up to your own standard?
