Some of these Movies I see as Hollywood pandering. Selecting a target audience with a 'package' that they can't pass up. (Maybe I'm too cynical?)

I heard that very young voice, I listened to the first minute. Keep in mind she would have been about 24 at the time.

I'm wondering if she was 'picked' as a Spokesperson for her 'delivery style'? (she is captivating)

AND the then nascent technology that we carry in our pockets and purses. And she was a genuine 'hotty'. Not to mention she didn't take a dime for it! She turned it over to the UNITED STATES (military, intel--I don't remember which).




(Funny thing--I was googling this when you posted it. I put in actress who developed radio technology--I didn't even know what to call it, I would have never remembered her name)

I read her autobiography,Ecstasy and Me,in HS,men did anything to be with her.

Smart 'another guy'. I gave up that silliness, luckily, a long time ago. If the story is good, I'll go see it! (I admit, I do read a review or 2 first).

PS I also fact-check movies like that. Rent the movie or stream it, it is worth an hour and 10 or 15 mins. of your time.

Explain to me, and you know it's true, that STILL, to this day, the bulk of movies are made for men! All the action flicks? Even if they aren't blowing things up, they're chasing bad guys, and spys and TAIL. Those aren't made for women. Don't tell me there are as many chick flicks and romantic comedies as there are the first batch mentioned. So they throw a few bones out for women and women of color and 'colored people'. We all need heros (and heroines).

No she didn't, that's rubbish. She came up with the idea of frequency hopping with composer George Antheil to prevent radio controlled torpedoes being jammed. The technology back then just wasn't sophisticated enough to keep the transmitter and receiver totally in-sync. It needed the advent of transistors to become practicable. Sadly she never made a penny from the patent as it expired in the late 50s.

Frequency hopping or spread spectrum has many uses today, including radar, Bluetooth, WiFi and mobiles phones. The first practical use was by the US Navy in the early 60s during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

I AM COMPLETELY AWARE OF THIS. And I find it fascinating and BRILLIANT!! I found out in 2004 during Kerry Bush "match". It's actually somewhat long and interesting story (at least to me). I'll shorten it. We had a 91 year old ex-civil rights worker in my little town who had CASH stashed in her house to bail out a local campaign worker who was jailed on behest of the county REPUBLICAN Party. The 91 year old still kept the stash because of her civil rights training in the 50'S. She posted bail for the mother of 4 (with a severely handicapped child in a wheelchair at home) that night.

PS The story SOMEHOW was in The Drudge Report the very next day. I found that just all to quick and coincidental. But that took another 3 or 4 years for me to put that together.
