bwahaha. you pick your running mate after securing the nomination. It would be such a Biden move to show his insecurity right out of the gate with another name attached to his campaign.

Gotta love Willie, he's a Democrat and a political sage but not afraid to tell it like it is (as far as he see's it):
Falling up: The latest rumor is that former Vice President Joe Biden will join the race in April and that he’ll tap Stacey Abrams off the bat as his running mate.
Abrams is the former minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives who narrowly lost the governor’s race last year.
I had a feeling that Abrams was on the rise when she was picked to give the Democratic response to President Trump’s State of the Union address.
But I also know that for all of the hoopla surrounding her, the bottom line is that she lost the race in Georgia. So it’s quite possible she’d make an ideal running mate for Biden, who has lost two races for president.
The Democrats seem to have a thing this year for also-rans. Beto O’Rourke, that celebrated newcomer to Democratic national politics, lost his U.S. Senate race in Texas in November to Ted Cruz, who may be the most hated man in the Capitol.
Betting on losers seldom pays off in horse racing. Betting on two losers doesn’t double your odds of winning.
The Democrats, however, love the purity of convictions. And nothing says purity to them like losing.
Willie does seem high on South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg:
On the other hand: Keep an eye on Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., who is one of many Democrats running for the White House.
His thoughtfulness channels Barack Obama. His delivery is Bill Clinton. He graduated from Harvard and was a Rhodes scholar, so he hits a homer with the overeducated crowd. But he’s also a Navy Reserve veteran who served in Afghanistan, which gives him purple-state credibility.
And he’s not on the socialist bandwagon with so many of the other Democratic hopefuls who want everything to be free.
I’m also taking a shine to Andrew Yang, who drew an impressive crowd in San Francisco the other day and wants to give every adult who’s a U.S. citizen $1,000 a month.
That’s a good opening offer. I don’t know about you, but I think my vote is worth a bit more.
