That's a good idea.
What we are learning after the Facebook political debacle is that social media is worse than commercial media about spreading rumors and disinformation. For social media corporations, clicks are money. They don't care how they get them; they just need to get them, and get lots of them. It doesn't matter if they pretend to bring news and the news is fake. That doesn't matter at all. As long as it generates lots of clicks, that's money to big social media corporations.
Google owns Youtube. To me, that is a conflict of interest. I don't think such power should be concentrated so restrictively. It goes against freedom. Where's the competition? Why don't they just call it GoogleTube? Don't they want the public to realize just how much content they control?
