Default There Are Now More Women In Congress Than On Country Music Radio Stations. Red Shame.

I don't know if the OP title is actually true, but it exemplifies a point that has recently been gaining attention.

The glaring lack of women in Country Music.

What are the producers afraid of?

    Another Dixie Chicks?

PoliTalker anti-troll thread thief disclaimer: If this thread is stolen, plagiarized, will the thief have the nerve to use the entire OP, word for word? Including this disclaimer? If you want my take on it, you'll have to post to this original PoliTalker thread. I refuse to be an enabler for online bullies, so I won't post to a stolen thread. I won't even read it. If you don't see me, PoliTalker, posting in this thread check the author. This might be a hijacked thread, not the original.

Carrie Underwood and Leanne Rimes have noticed the appalling lack of women in Country Music.

    I wonder why that is?

Is the audience comprised of macho males and misogynistic Trump supporters?

    No country music fans here?

    Shoot.

I like both kinds of music.

    Country AND Western.

But it sure has become chauvinistic in recent years.

I guess they have to play to their audience.

Johnny Cash would sing with anybody.

    Even Bob Dylan!

I think what happened to Country Music was the Dixie Chicks messed up their heads. So many fans were so in love with those three; and then they got their hearts broken when Natalie Maines spoke out against the Iraq war and GWB.

I think Country Music marketers realized that empowered women might speak out for liberal causes; so they scaled way back on promoting any women in Country Music.

Which is sad. Because there are so many great female voices and great female entertainers out there.

The Dixie Chicks were the best thing to happen to Music since CSNY sang 'Ohio.'
