Yup... There are many issues with how these twits are 'determining' the global temperature...
First, we need to know how many thermometers (stations) are being used. I believe NASA uses around 7,500 of them.
Second, these stations (for statistical analysis purposes) MUST be uniformly spaced [to avoid location bias]. These stations are NOT uniformly spaced...
Third, these stations (for statistical analysis purposes) MUST all be simultaneously read by the same observer [to avoid time bias]. I don't believe that the NASA stations are read in this manner.
BUT, for the sake of these twits, let's just ASSUME that those thermometers WERE uniformly spaced AND simultaneously read... Then, one needs more information... There needs to be a variance declared... In regard to temperature, it has been observed to vary by as much as 20deg F per MILE, and vary by as much as 49deg F per TWO MINUTES. The possible range of temperatures has been observed to be 262deg F (from -128deg F up to 134deg F)... Since the Earth's surface area is about 197 million sq miles, the use of 7,500 thermometers would equate to approx. one thermometer for every 26,266 sq miles (or an area roughly the size of West Virginia)... Do you think that a single thermometer could accurately measure the temperature of anywhere within an area the size of West Virginia?? Yeah, no...
To get the margin of error down to +-10deg F would require around 200 million thermometers... (which would get you within the 20deg F per MILE variance)...
Yet, these twits want to tell me that they know the Earth is warming...
Counting bear populations isn't science. It's census.
The World Wildlife Fund keeps track of polar bear counts from various countries. The nation with the most data is of course Canada. Their data indicates that polar bear populations in Canada are either stable or increasing. Most places don't count polar bears, so the data is unknown. The only region indicating a decrease in polar bear population are some sections of Alaska (not all). Apparently these bears moved to Canada?
For the populations we DO know about, there doesn't seem to be a problem with polar bears decreasing in number overall.

That IS what he said. While I normally like parrots, I do not like this particular breed.
You mean the 'facts' that you parrot? Where are you getting your 'facts'?
Oooo. An insult. Don't you feel threatened now, Superfreak?
Bush is not a conservative, though he ran under the Republican party. Much of what he did is quite liberal, and even unconstitutional. To be fair, though, it wasn't Bush Jr that caused the crash of 2008. It was the Fed, and policies implemented by the Clinton administration that took a few years to come to fruition.
Because what he might make a valid argument. Bulverism fallacy.
