No, I said it would be better than what we have now, but we can do better than that. We should lower taxes on the working-class and raise taxes on the rich.

Because Trump cut taxes for everyone, including the 1%. And the amount of money the working-class saved wasn't much. Basically, this was putting a band-aid on a bullet wound, and then saying we fixed the problem.

So I've got a proposal. Whenever someone says they want their taxes to be raised, ask them how much they are willing to pay, and ask for proof that they've led by example.

Just today, one of the usual left wing idiots made the claim of "I'd gladly pay more in taxes if it went for (fill in the blank)". What's stopping them from voluntarily paying for it personally?

The same question should be asked of them when they say "refugees" should be allowed in the country.

Half of individuals making an income don't pay income taxes. Many get more back in a refund than they paid in through things like the EITC. How much lower can it go on someone paying nothing?

Well Trump did just that by eliminating SALT tax deductions and leftists are shitting their pants. I mean the only people being affected are people who pay more than $10,000 a year in property taxes. And surely poor people can’t afford enough house to pay $10,000 in property taxes.
Not true, the Blue States are already paying for a lot of Red States, all Trump did was increase their contributions, that is what they complaining about

And to even think Trump taxed the rich is inane, as he told his buddies in Florida, "I just made you guys a lot of money"

Yeah, some poor schmuck knocking off twenty four grand a year with four kids paying State and Local Taxes should shell out more to make conservatives feel happy

I think in addition to having low taxes for the working-class, we should have universal basic income and social programs like free health care.
Trump lowering taxes (for everyone, not just the working-class) but not doing much else, is doing the bare minimum and then using that as an excuse to not do more.

That schmuck should work on bettering his skills instead of making babies for the rest of us to support.

That schmuck isn't paying income taxes. Why does he benefit from society if he isn't paying his fair share?

If you don't have skills to earn a basic income, you should work on your skills. If you aren't willing to provide yourself healthcare, you should get sick and suffer.

If you like compassion, then clearly logic won't change your mind. But if universal basic income and universal health care are good for the economy, if they benefit everyone including the rich, why shouldn't we have them?
