If the one selling or giving someone a gun knew they could go to prison for doing so they would think a lot harder about doing it. And if the criminal knew he could reduce his sentence by giving up that individual he would do it. To say it would not make a difference because a criminal is a criminal is simply fucking stupid.


Bullshit. If I sell a gun to someone who later uses it to commit a crime I am not liable for jack shit. If it were a felony to sell a gun to ANYONE, criminal or otherwise, the number of illegal transfers of ownership would drop drastically.

Unless you are a convicted felon if you have the money you can buy one. You may have ranted online or to friends saying you are going to kill people or have a mental condition and you are going to pass what they now call a background check. Even that convicted felon from Oregon could buy one in Florida, the check isn't even nationwide.

It really doesn't. Gun laws could easily be made stricter without amending the constitution. The supreme court has already ruled that govt can adopt stricter gun laws without having to amend the constitution.

Not allowing convicted felons to buy one to banning fully automatics are 2 examples of restrictions that are constitutional. Banning assault type weapons would be stupid in my opinion but it would be perfectly constitutional if it were adopted.
