Every bank that screwed over the folks and every auto manufacture who ran their business into the ground should have been left for the unemployment line. The Bush/Obama bailouts had no constitutional authority or reasonable accountability to expect or get a dime’s worth of taxpayers money. They created their own condition and any real definition of real capitalism required them to pay the price. Both the banks and GM are back up to their old tricks. GM still building too many different models of cars that nobody wants and the BIG banks getting even BIGGER to maintain the myth that they’re too damned BIG to fail. They should have gone out of business and the small banks picking up their customers, ditto for GM. The financial pain would have ended quicker and the market economy would have been way better off for it and the greedy crooked bastards would have left a genuine CAPITALIST precedent for the rest to take note of. Now we still have the same fire breathing dragon hanging over our heads, TOO BIG TO FAIL and jobs anchored to a failing, incompetent corporate moron and taxpayers screwed again for billions.
