Well, you're saying those middle east nations are doing that NOW, but they weren't doing it before, back in 2015-2016 when the price was dropping, were they?

So it's a matter of timing.

Also, Venezuela has suffered 10 years of US sanctions against them, so that plays a major role in Venezuela's ability to diversify its economy. Saudi Arabia and Turkey don't have US sanctions on them, so investing and diversifying their economy with US investment is what makes it possible for them to do that.

Venezuela failed its citizens due to Socialism.

If the Socialists don’t want more sanctions, cease with the policies that have caused starvation in their country.

There is an oil-rich country in the Middle East called Iran. The Americans destroyed its democracy for oil, broke their word about an agreement, and are now trying to destroy it. American habits are not rational even for capitalists.

And it isn’t a “matter of timing” regarding Saudi Arabia. Obama was taking steps to severely limit where U.S. oil companies could drill, so the companies started drilling on land where they already held the leases(great “fuck you” to Obama, BTW)and before you start whining about why they wanted more areas to drill when they already had all these other leases, it’s because it’s easier to extract there, so shut up. When Saudi saw this happening, THAT is when they started planning. But as I said, it’s not a matter of timing, it’s a matter of reality based business acumen. Yeah, see above. Oil is a volatile commodity, if those people knew how to make their own money, why didn't the economy keep chugging along(albeit at a slower pace)when the bottom dropped out of the market?

    Yeah, once again, see above.

See, what did I tell you? You made 3 points that you think are separate, and they all said the same fucking thing.

I am? Here's a little riddle for you to solve(don't worry, I'll include hints because I think you're the kinda guy that might need a couple): There is an oil-rich country in the middle east(hint: it's Saudi Arabia), American leftists hate this country for many reasons, but the most fashionable reason right now is because some of this country's(hint#2: it's still Saudi Arabia)operatives have apparently assassinated a "journalist" from another country that hates us(hint#3: it's Turkey). You don't know anything about Saudi Arabia or the oil business or Khashoggi.

Oil companies have held leases on public lands for decades. Obama didn't limit them and neither did Bush.

OK, but here's the thing...you cannot expect Venezuela to diversify their economy if you're placing sanctions on them that would prevent them from doing so.

So all you're doing is perpetuating an issue so you can then complain about that, which is basically just masturbation.

    Dear Idiot,

When you increase the supply of oil, you do what to the price?

When you place sanctions on a nation, how is that nation supposed to diversify its economy with international and/or global investment?

Your problem is that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. And it shows.

What would drilling in ANWAR accomplish? NOTHING. All it would do is exacerbate the problem Venezuela is facing.

So you screech about Venezuela relying on oil production, but then you turn right around and argue for an increase in oil production.

How does drilling in ANWAR increase the price per barrel, and subsequently revenues, for Venezuela?
