The Green New Deal takes years just like the New Deal took years. In both cases, the same Conservative idiots are fearmongering.

So answer me this, if you Conservative idiots were wrong when you fearmongered about the New Deal, why wouldn't you also be wrong when you fearmonger over the Green New Deal?

Basically, what fucking credibility do you have that you can make these kinds of fearful predictions?
AOC says it's a ten year plan because we'll be beyond the point of return in 12 years.
That means we have to get off fossils and on green within 10 years or we're all gonna die.

You can use my same response here for the rest of your posts where you claim all we need to do is transition.
I have no problem with eventual transitions, but I want it done by market forces, and you agree there is no exigent need to do it otherwise

I did a lot of protesting in the run-up to Iraq.

Never once did I see or meet any self-described Conservatives who also opposed it.

Every single Conservative in DC voted for the Iraq War.

    All of them.

    Unanimously.

The only Conservatives I met while protesting were there to call me a traitor or anti-American or a terrorist-appeaser.

    Conservatives always supported Iraq.

    No Bush-Off Machine allowed.

    Great!

And in the last 10 years, green energy development and research massively increased output.

So what AOC is calling for is to triple down on that investment to speed up that increased output even faster.

Again, hard to see how this doesn't create opportunity.

Hillary only supported it because Bush and Cheney lied to everyone and convinced them Saddam was a threat.
I supported Hillary in '08 -i bought the "experience argument" over Obama.
I was willing to give her a pass on 1 bad mistake.

But hen she hawked the regime change of Libya - she was the leading voice in fact, and talked obama into it.
I have actual Emails from her State dept that show that. https://wikileaks.org/clinton-emails/emailid/23898

Libya devolved from a prosperous literate state with women in power to a failed terrorist infested state
    because we removed (assassinated) Qadafi.
That was unforgivable, she didn't learn from Iraq, and demonstrated her neocon ways were intractable.
May she rot in hell for the deaths and destruction she hyped

Not quite "we're all gonna die"...more like, "massive sections and parts of the world are going to end up underwater, millions of acres of farmland will be arid and useless, species that complete the ecosystem are going to be eradicated throwing it into chaos (which is already happening in our oceans), and climate refugees will lead to civil strife and conflict (like what has already happened in Syria)."

So yeah, if that's a future we want to have, then we shouldn't do anything. But if that's a future we want to avoid, we have to act.

The problem is you don't know what the fuck you want because you're not a person who does any critical thinking.

All you do is react and this post right here is proof that you're a reactionary, not a leader.

You're a follower, not an innovator.

You're lazy, not a hard worker.

You rely on privilege, not on a strong work ethic.

You're useless, so we should leave you behind.

I'm not a DC conservative. I hate the power culture of DC -I voted for Gary Johnson in 2012

again you need to learn the difference between neocon/libs and conservatives

so we're back to it has to be done in ten years?

I've been hearing the same since global warming replaced global cooling of the 70's into an ubiquitous "climate change" frankly we are going into a period of less solar activity as well - so i'm very skeptical of this rush toall things green at the expense of our economy.

ALSO we have been reducing pollution and CO2. China has not. why should we be in the Paris Accords under these circumstances? it will take all of our money $93t), and we'll be subsidizing China and India coal...WTF?

It should have already happened. We should have been doing this 20 years ago. But you guys wanted tax cuts instead. So here we are, now under the gun.

10 years is a reasonable amount of time. It took less than that to put a man on the moon, a concept thought impossible in 1961.

I have more faith in American innovation than you, I guess.

It doesn't matter what the label is, the facts are that we are seeing the effects of it in our climate right now.

The droughts, the polar vortexes, the floods, the superstorms, the 80 degree weather in the Northeast in January, the eradication of species, the rise of communicable diseases...all of that is the result of man-made whatever-you-want-to-call-it.

At this point if you are denying that, you're complicit in it.

If we take the lead in developing a green economy here, we can export that to the rest of the world.

    You're not thinking big enough.

    Small mind, small thinker.

I would never hire you for any project with this attitude of yours.
