You have no legitimate argument, nor does it seem you have any clue the south was still part of America before and after the Civil War.
Don't put monuments to foreign enemies on public lands. Not to Nazis, not to Soviets, and not to Confederates.

Are you aware of the CSA secession documents, Constitution, and government? They were not Americans until they foolishly attacked us, and were militarily defeated. Yes, Lincoln and the rest of the federal government never recognized their legitimacy.

Yes, I am fully aware. The south fought for secession and lost, so they never became separate from America. Lincoln wanted to keep the country together, and he did.
Unlike the south who wanted to become their own country, you liberals want to change this country and want everyone to comply with your ideals. That will not happen.

Um, the south attempted nullification, first. Clearly it attempted to alter the country through unconstitutional methods. It also relied upon the Taney Court to get unconstitutional rulings, just like your leftist judges of today.

Lincoln was so stupid he thought he could issue a proclamation to those that he didn't govern and they'd listen. You're so stupid you still think it freed the slaves. You have that in common with many that went through the public educational system.

This is an area obviously that requires an education and as usual you lack that. what the emancipation proclamation accomplished was that it branded the Confederacy as a slavery state. The European powers were opposed to slavery and this swung feelings in Europe to favor the union away from the Confederacy. The EP eliminated any European aid to the South. You've never been to school have you?

No branding by the document. That's a pretzel style twisting by someone as stupid as Lincoln thinking he had the authority to tell people he didn't government what they could do. The "border" States still had slaves. Lincoln was stupid and you're just as stupid to think the way you do.

The south never "attempted to alter the country," it wanted to become a country in and of it's own.
It's today's far left who want to alter the country. If they get their way, this country will implode.

Tell us, why have these old monuments, all of a sudden, become offensive? Is it that the left
wishes to ignite a new round of racial tensions? It seems to be working, many say everyone who
is a conservative, and especially anyone who supports Trump, are bitter old white racists.
Keep in mind, referring to us as uneducated deploreables didn't work in 2016.

What? He didn't govern? Lincoln was the president of the United States, so yeah, he did govern the southern states too. Why do you think they wanted to succeed?

He didn't govern the States that had seceded. He was President of the United States of America not the Confederate States of America.

They were not successful in their attempted secession. They lost. So the country was never split up.

Losing didn't change that secession took place.

One of the biggest debates after the war was over was how to RE-admit the States that had seceded. If the Congress of the U.S. was involved in such a debate, even they acknowledged secession took place. You can't let someone RE-join if they didn't leave.

Perhaps you've heard the term REconstruction.
