America is not a democracy. America is a Constitutional republic.
Right, but they have a universal, single payer health care system. They have publicly-funded free colleges and universities. They have socialist aspects to the country, just like we do.
We're not calling to turn the US into Venezuela, we're calling for the US to adopt some of the successful policies and agencies of our First World allies like Canada, Japan, South Korea, the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Israel, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Australia, and New Zealand.

Constitution-based federal republic; strong democratic tradition"
Hello Earl,
That is a narrow scope opinion. There are many more factors at play than socialism. For instance: Venezuela gets most of their power from one dam. There has been drought. The water level has dropped, causing national power outages. How do you think national power outages would affect the economy of a small nation?

Whoever it ends up being, he or she will be the one who went after getting the most of the kind of votes that have been required all these years to win the election. He or she will have won at least 270 of them, and was not focused on winning popularity contests.
Trump will do it again.

"Matthew Reid, an analyst at Sabal Financial Group in Newport Beach, Calif., attended the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill from 2009 to 2013. He also cites lower costs as a factor in his decision. The Canadian dollar is now worth only about 70 cents U.S., and tuition costs are generally much lower to begin with. The University of Toronto costs $19,754 to $25,584 a year in U.S. dollars, for example."

Right, but as with all things, there are degrees of socialism. It's not an absolute like you're making it out to be, and like Canada shows.
OK, but Canada has plenty of socialism and it isn't failing, and neither is Japan, South Korea, Germany, the UK, Norway, Sweden, Israel, Denmark, Holland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Australia, or New Zealand.
So why can't we borrow certain aspects of those countries and apply them here?
It's because you're afraid not of any dangers of socialism, but you're afraid people will see that you were just fearmongering because you didn't want to be proven wrong.
Conservatives aren't afraid that single payer health care will fail, they're worried it will succeed and prove them wrong.
