Prosecutors say Christopher Hasson stockpiled weapons and wrote about creating a white homeland through violence.

A lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard is a domestic terrorist and a self-identified white nationalist who was stockpiling weapons to “murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country,” federal prosecutors alleged in shocking court filings this week.
Christopher Paul Hasson was arrested on Feb. 15 on gun and drug charges. Four days later, federal prosecutors wrote in a motion to detain Hasson that those charges were just the “tip of the proverbial iceberg.”

“The defendant is a domestic terrorist,” federal prosecutors wrote in the court filing, “bent on committing acts dangerous to human life that are intended to affect governmental conduct.”

Hasson, a resident of Silver Spring, Maryland, was assigned at the U.S. Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, D.C.

This is the prevailing logic, according to what I have been told by Trump-loving wingnut teabaggers:

If a Muslim commits a terrorist act, it reflects poorly on the religion of Islam.

If a black person commits a crime, it says something about people with black skin.

If a Hispanic undocumented worker commits a crime, it speaks directly to the threat of an "invasion of brown people from the south.

If a white guy commits an act of terrorism, he is a lone wolf, a mentally disturbed individual. Most of the time, we are not even supposed to conflate white Christians and terrorism. It is strictly verboten!

This is the prevailing logic, according to what I've heard FROM left wingers:

If it is a Muslim, we can't judge all by what one or a few do.

If it is a black person, that doesn't speak for all black people.

If a Hispanic illegal/criminal commits a crime, it's not bad because citizens commit crimes on a far higher level.

If a native American walks into a group of students while beating his drum, the students should turn around and walk away although they were there first.

If whites are even accused of doing something wrong, despite the lack of evidence, they're supposed to be automatically condemned and determined guilty without an investigation.

If a nut misuses a gun, the gun is at fault because it grew arms/legs, walked where it fired, and pulled it's own trigger, therefore, all gun owners should have their rights limited.
