Stone will step into the courtroom of Judge Amy Berman Jackson on Thursday afternoon to explain why he shouldn’t be marched summarily off to jail for an egregious violation of a gag order that Jackson issued after earlier rounds of Stone’s outrageous behavior. How likely is Stone to emerge from the courthouse in pinstripes instead of orange? Jackson is the same judge who last year revoked Paul Manafort’s bond and dropped him into prison to await his trial.

However, the more likely outcome is that Stone gets a solid dressing-down and another zero added to his $250,000 bail. And he’s likely to get another stern reminder about his gag order and some explicit language about what will happen the next time he tries to get “cute.”

Then, assuming that Stone can keep his mouth shut long enough to leave the courtroom, he’ll likely go outside and immediately break that gag order. Again.

But word is a single-occupant cell at Northern Neck Regional Jail is available. Stone can even have fun searching for all the places Manafort carved his initials. So … fingers crossed.
