The politicians in the state of New York and the County of Queens completed studies on the feasibility of Amazon building in their state and county. Corporations have 5, 10, 20 year plans for the future and growth of their company. This was a plan Amazon probably decided years ago.
There were several locations Amazon was looking at.
Amazon met with government officials negotiated the best deal with the State of New York and now a stupid representative killed the deal. Obviously she did not have the best interest of her district in mind. Fortunately for her she has been on the job only 5 weeks. By the end of term I’m sure the people in her district would have forgotten about this. The public has short memories. However her next opponent will not.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for killing tens of thousands of jobs for New Yorkers that would have generated billions of dollars in economic activity.

The billboard, located on 42nd street near 8th Avenue, reads:

When pressed for details Amazon could not guarantee the 25,000 or that they would hire locals. There were other aspects of the deal that weren’t panning out. New Yorkers feared being displaced and rents increasing .
