The left is already starting to temper expectations with Mullers report

"WASHINGTON — The first time they met was in Germany. President Trump took his interpreter’s notes afterward and ordered him not to disclose what he heard to anyone. Later that night, at a dinner, Mr. Trump pulled up a seat next to President Vladimir V. Putin to talk without any American witnesses at all."

I'm good with waiting for the Mueller Report.

much of the reporting and commentary appears to spring from a single story, published in the Washington Post on July 18, 2016, with the headline "Trump campaign guts GOP's anti-Russia stance on Ukraine." The piece reported that the Trump team "orchestrated a set of events" to change the platform in a pro-Russian direction.

Missing from all the talk is what the Republican platform actually said before it was allegedly "gutted" by Trump. What did the original draft of the platform say about Russia and Ukraine? Was it, in fact, changed? If so, how?

As it turns out, a look at the original draft of the platform — which has never been released publicly — shows that it always had tough language on Russian aggression in Ukraine. And not only did that language stay in the final platform — nothing was taken out — it was actually strengthened, not weakened, as a result of events at the convention.

Sure, you have shit on someone, you will be tepid and do things that will protect you.
Compromising Americans with women is the oldest trick in the book. That's why state
encourages wives to travel with husbands, to prevent exactly what appears to have happened.
Also while not poor, Trump has financial entanglements and opportunity in Russia.

It's a hot mess, and it explain exactly why Trump gargles Putin's cum whenever he talks about him.

IF the only people who will lend you money are Russian banks and oligarchs...

...and IF you need to borrow money in order to do the things you do in business...

...you'd better be willing to do what the Russian banks and oligarchs demand of you.

They do NOT play games about getting money back.

The kind of games Trump played with American lenders...would get family back...one piece at a time.

I suspect Trump is deeply in debt to Russians...and probably is more willing to do their bidding than a president should be willing to do.

A very plausible summation of what may have occurred. Hopefully, the Mueller Report will see the light of day. (?)

that was about leakage ( getting the notes), and the dinners do not always have 2 translators.

Trump told Russia's foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, and ambassador to the US at the time, Sergey Kislyak, about the terrorist group ISIS's work to develop a laptop bomb that could pass through airport security undetected — information Trump had received from Israeli intelligence officials.

    It's definitely 'witting'

witting as in Trump owes the Russian mob (includes Putin) hundreds of millions of dollars - they've been funding his business failures since he went bust in AC and no banks would give him another dime

    fact

It doesn't even matter if he's unwitting or witting...in both cases, he's unfit to serve.

Lots of information was coming the FBI's way which showed something was wrong regarding Russia in our election. They also saw who it was helping. They had info about Trump's international bank dealing. The FBI would have been remisss not to look into it. That is how you protect the country.
