    Excerpt:

Generally speaking, we look down on hypocrites because human experience shows that people who “speak out of both sides of their mouths” are regarded as untrustworthy and of inferior moral quality.

There are few sources of hypocrisy as constant and resilient as the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal. While that publication’s news division is among the world’s best, its opinion and editorial pages are nearly always drawn from the dankest cesspool of the American right-wing.

Their function, through careful, constant repetition, is to convince the Journal’s upscale, self-regarding readership that the American left poses a serious and mortal threat to their continued, uninterrupted accumulation of wealth.

They are, in reality, the high-end version of the vicious “conservative” bile that feeds their useful idiot “lower”classes on AM talk radio, and they succeed by creating an alternative universe of carefully programmed right-wing dogma that many—far too many–of this nation’s wealthiest citizens accept as “truth.”

But sometimes the weight of the Journal’s self-contradictions becomes impossible to sustain. And they have reached that sorry space in their convoluted attempts to justify the continued presidency of Donald Trump. As Jonathan Chait, writing for New York Magazine observes, the Journal serves as a useful predictor or “early warning” about the right’s latest political strategy.

But in its flailing efforts to cope with the mounting Congressional inquiries into Mr. Trump’s nefarious collusion with a foreign state—a foreign state whom conservatives, incidentally, used to revile—the Journal’s stable of go-to “legal apparatchiks,” among them attorney David Rivkin, Jr., are painfully, almost comically, tying themselves into knots.

In an editorial published in the Journal last week, Rivkin and co-author, fellow “conservative legal theorist” Elizabeth Foley, essentially–and without a hint of self-reflection, argue that the sheer multiplicity of criminal allegations of Trump’s “pre-presidential”activities should prompt newly sworn in Attorney General William Barr to shut down Congressional investigations into Trump’s crimes, for the “good of the country.”

He conveniently ignores the fact that those Congressional inquiries go directly—not as some oblique “aside”– to Trump’s very actions as president, and the motives behind them.
He who is the author of a war lets loose the whole contagion of hell and opens a vein that bleeds a nation to death. Thomas Paine

    Absolutely incredible.

This will be remembered in history as the worst administration ever...

...and yet Trump still has supporters.

    Oh, well!

    We reap what we sow.

Trump has spent a lifetime breaking and bending laws. He has absolutely no respect for the law. It is his game to see what he can get away with. His crimes will keep coming out until he resigns. But it may not work. The State will nail him.

Do liberals actually think that they can make shit up and not get challenged on their bullshit? We know this typically happens with the leftist media but it doesn't wash with Conservatives who can think for themselves.

I want to know what crimes has Trump been charged with and proof that he committed a crime. I am expecting the usual from the lying, hate filled, low IQ liberal leftists that infest this forum with their inanity.......

Ha. The one thing that's missing from the "too many crimes" lie is a mention of any crime. Embarrassing.

    Yep!

Donald Trump is so caught up in his web of corruption, lies, malfeasance, and coverup, and has involved so many other corrupt individuals in his schemes to seek power and make himself millions of dollars, it will end up being one of the largest dragnets in the history of American crime and political corruption.

That is why it has already taken two years, and still dragging the perpetrators in on the dragnet.

The dynamics run in 360 degrees! Everything Donald Trump touches is corrupted immediately!

American History and Politics will be shit-stained forever now because of the Shit Show Donald Trump and his bloodsucking parasites have created!

4 in jail and nearly 40 indictments. Trump is running a criminal enterprise. So many crimes and so little time. This admin is patterned after a mafia family. That is why Trump's first requirement is a loyalty oath. Going to have to fumigate the Whitehouse in 2020.

You mean all the corruption, lies, malfeasance, and coverups you can't seem to come up with? Dunce.

Can the AG shut down Congressional investigations?

You'll have to ask the WSJ. They seem to think the Attorney General can stop Congress investigating Trump.
