Well, if you are a person who thinks that words mean something, as I am, then no Nordic Countries are not socialist in the truest sense of the word. They have not nationalized who swaths of the means of production which is really what socialism is. The term is misused by many.
What they do have is a capitalist environment and a very generous nanny state. Now there are those that think that we can replicate that here in the US. But, they are missing one simple fact.
Those Nordic countries have very homogenous populations, are very small in size AND have strict limits on immigration.
Having that type of welfare state with unchecked immigration is a recipe for disaster.
But, I look forward to listening to the magic of the democrat party where they can have the rich in this country pay for everyone's healthcare, college, heating, housing, universal income and cell phone coverage. That is some magic
