Where’s the crisis?

In reference to building the wall/more technology on the border. Let me tell you where the "crisis" is:

The “crisis” is finding dead bodies on your ranch, the “crisis” is finding domestic pig ears in your drinkers when there isn’t a domestic pig for 25 miles, the “crisis” is waking up to unknown people in your attic, the “crisis” is dogs barking all night when your closest neighbor is 7-25 miles depending on the direction to just realize there is people outside your barn, the “crisis” is having to come home after dark and have to carry a rifle to go feed your livestock after BP tells you that they only caught 9 of the 15 they are looking for. The “crisis” is you don’t feel comfortable letting your child play outside without being in eyeshot of them. The “crisis” is having large drug busts on your ranch. The “crisis” is feeling sick to your stomach every time the helicopter circles above your house because you know they are chasing people. The “crisis” is seeing the BP camera set-up on your ranch. The “crisis” is coming home after dark and getting out of you car not knowing if someone is waiting to attack or kill you and steal your car. The "crisis" is when your children are driving home in front of you, as one is of age to drive, and there are officers on your road watching illegals 1/4-1/2 mile from your house and you have to call your children and tell them to keep driving, don’t stop at the house. The “crisis” is coming home to your backdoor wide open. The “crisis” is real for me, my family, and my community.

There is a crisis and it takes many forms. In this instance an illegal Mexican died after 15 days in the hospital after being taken into custody by the BP. It sucks the guy had to die, but the crisis-point is 15 days in the hospital is costly and is a kind of crisis for both the hospital and the locals. There was one ICU bed that was unavailable for a local family. Hospitals needs to make money or they go under—and that matters to people who work in them.

Part of the insanity is people who illegally cross the border get free healthcare—if their condition warrants it. It’s sad, but I’m sure a fair number of them come over for that very reason. I pay significant money for my own insurance but if I break an arm riding my mountain bike it’s a game changer, financially, thanks to our Obama-era deductibles.

So yeah, it’s a crisis from several different perspectives and it’s also more of a national emergency than what’s going on in Somalia or whatever.
