Rev. Al Sharpton said Sunday that Jussie Smollett should face "accountability to the maximum" if it's found the actor staged an attack he claimed was perpetrated by men yelling racist and homophobic language.

“I, among many others when hearing of the report, said that the reports were horrific and that we should come with all that we can come with in law enforcement to find out what happened and the guilty should suffer the maximum,” Sharpton, a longtime civil rights activist, said on his MSNBC program, "Politics Nation."

“I still maintain that,” he continued. “And if it is that Smollett and these gentlemen did in some way perpetuate something that is not true, they ought to face accountability to the maximum."

I could have easily been in Mr. Smollet's corner on this one, if someone had wrapped a noose around his neck, shouted racial homophobic insults and beat him up, i'd be calling for the perps heads on a platter. never should that be allowed.

But I am equally appalled by the idea that he would concoct a story, even plan it, to cause further reason to dump on trump and his supporters.
matter of fact I find it a little far fetched that he would do that, so I'm still going to reserve judgement until hearing more.
I can't believe a person of his stature would risk it all for such a thing.

But on the other hand look what "Dr." Ford did to her reputation by lying about Judge Kavanaugh simply because of her hatred toward trump.
